Fashion Illustration At Its Best

So, I really do love fashion illustration. It’s basically, the beginning of the creation of fashion and what people don’t realise is that there are some seriously talented fashion illustrators out there. One such illustrator is Kat Rogers. Kat is the creator of PaperFashion and this lady is seriously talented. We took 5 minutes to discuss her love of illustration and fashion and this is what she had to say. Also check out some of her amazing illustrations below.

“PaperFashion is a way for me to share illustration and my love for fashion with the world. It’s not so serious… but more about having fun and just enjoying beautiful things

How did you get into fashion illustration? Is it something you’ve always done?

I’ve always loved art, drawing, painting, everything! Once I discovered it I never stopped- it’s just something that’s always been a part of me. As I’ve grown up, I’ve continued to practice it and study it. My style has just been something I’ve developed throughout my life so far…

Do you also make the clothes that you design?

I have made some of the clothes that I’ve designed, but it’s not my strength. I enjoy making things, but I love creating things on paper so much more!

Your designs are so amazingly detailed, where do you draw inspiration from?

I draw inspiration from everyone, and everything I’ve come across in my life. Cultures, people, art, nature… really everything. The way I illustrate just feels like part of who I am and who I’m becoming.

 Who are you favourite designers?

I have a love for exaggerated things and so I love designers who go beyond the normal (Although I love some less extravagant designers also like Alexander Wang and Ports 1961). I love Galliano’s imagination, McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, and the fun that Moschino + Moschino Cheap & Chic contribute to the fashion world. I don’t think fashion should be as serious as people make it sometimes… it’s nice to know some designers still add that fun and humor to it!
